Chapter 18
Confrontation Under the Moon
Elara faces the Shadow Weaver. The battle rages, a clash of lunar magic against dark power, testing Elara's resolve and Kael's newfound purpose.
The air in the Shadow Weaver’s sanctum crackled, not with the usual oppressive stillness of a lair, but with a raw, untamed energy that mirrored the tempest raging within Elara. Above, a fractured dome of obsidian glass offered a distorted view of the night sky, a bruised canvas where a sliver of moon, sharp as a scythe, hung precariously. It was a pale imitation of the celestial body that pulsed within her, a constant, thrumming reminder of the power she now wielded, a power the Shadow Weaver craved.
Elara stood at the center of a cavernous chamber, its walls slick with an unnatural sheen, reflecting the eerie glow of phosphorescent fungi. His eyes, usually guarded, held a flicker of something fierce, a rekindled ember of the knight he once was.
Across from them, bathed in an ethereal, malevolent light emanating from a twisted obsidian staff, stood the Shadow Weaver. Their form was fluid, cloaked in shadows that seemed to writhe and coil, obscuring any discernible features. Yet, the voice that echoed through the chamber was chillingly clear, laced with a silken menace. "So, the little moon-child arrives. And with her, the disgraced hound. How quaint."
