The air in the ancient grove crackled with an unspoken tension, a palpable weight that pressed down on Elara’s chest. Moonlight, usually a comforting presence, now seemed to filter through the gnarled branches of the sentinel trees with a cold, judgmental gaze. Lyra, her ethereal form shimmering faintly in the lunar glow, stood before them, her usual serene expression replaced by a unsettling stillness. Kael, ever vigilant, had his hand resting on the hilt of his tarnished sword, his eyes narrowed, scanning the shadows that seemed to deepen around them with every passing second.

“You speak of guidance, Lyra,” Kael’s voice was a low growl, laced with a weariness that went deeper than mere fatigue. “But your words have led us in circles, from one trap to another. What is it you truly want?”

Lyra’s gaze, when it finally settled on Kael, held a depth that was both ancient and unnerving. “Want? I want what is written. I want the balance restored.” Her voice, usually a melodic whisper, now carried an edge of steel. “You, Sir Knight, have always been too quick to judge, too bound by your fallen honor to see the larger currents at play.”
