The intercepted communication, a jumbled mess of coded phrases that Anya’s team had painstakingly pieced together, had confirmed it. She traced the constellations on her monitor, their familiar patterns a stark contrast to the disarray in her own life. Dr. Reed’s notes, once her sanctuary, now felt like a minefield. Thorne’s organization, whatever its true name and purpose, was clearly as adept at navigating the shadows as she was at navigating the celestial sphere. And they were getting desperate.
