Project: The Grand Spectacle

The hum of the computer was a familiar lullaby to Darius, a constant companion in his small room that had become the command center of his burgeoning dreams. Sunlight streamed through the window, dappling the desk where his keyboard and mouse lay like tools of a budding artisan. He’d just finished watching the latest upload, his heart doing a little flutter-kick with each positive comment that appeared. It was still early days, the numbers modest, but the feeling of connection, of reaching people, was intoxicating.

“Jannik,” Darius called out, his voice a little hoarse from a night spent editing, “you gotta see this.”

Jannik, already sprawled on Darius’s bed with a half-eaten bag of chips, grunted and rolled over. He’d become an indispensable part of this journey, his easy-going nature a perfect counterpoint to Darius’s sometimes frantic energy. “What’s up, EIMEX? More love for the cat video?”
