The city breathed around us, a symphony of hushed secrets and distant laments. Each cobblestone beneath my worn boots held a story, a whispered confession of the night. Tonight, however, the city’s ancient pulse beat in rhythm with my own, a shared thrum of anticipation that settled deep within my bones. And I, in turn, found myself tethered to her by an invisible thread, a yearning that gnawed at the edges of my eternal solitude.
