Stone and Anya confront Al-Fahad in the weapon's control center. A tense psychological battle ensues, interspersed with brutal close-quarters combat against his final defenses.
The air in the control center was thick with the acrid scent of ozone and the metallic tang of fear. Dust motes danced in the flickering emergency lights, illuminating the stark, functional space. This was it. The heart of the beast. Colonel Jack ‘Maverick’ Stone’s hand tightened on his rifle, the worn grip a familiar comfort against his sweat-slicked palm. Beside him, Agent Anya Sharma’s eyes, usually sharp and analytical, were alight with a fierce, almost desperate fire. They had tracked Khalid Al-Fahad, ‘The Architect,’ to this subterranean labyrinth, the nerve center of his catastrophic plan.
“He’s here, Anya,” Stone’s voice was a low growl, barely audible above the hum of dormant machinery. “The intel was solid.”
Anya nodded, her gaze sweeping across the array of consoles and monitors. “The launch sequence is active, Jack. We have minutes, maybe less.” Her fingers flew across a portable datapad, cross-referencing schematics with real-time energy readings. “He’s bypassing the standard protocols. This is raw power, unfiltered.”
