The humid air hung heavy, thick with the scent of spices and the ever-present undercurrent of desperation. Rain lashed against the corrugated iron roof of their makeshift hideout, a symphony of chaos that mirrored the turmoil brewing within Colonel Jack Stone. He stared at the holographic map spread across the salvaged table, the flickering lights of Kuwait City a stark contrast to the darkness that had settled over his team. They were deep in the belly of the beast, hunting a phantom, and the phantom knew they were coming.
"Al-Fahad anticipated our move," Anya Sharma’s voice, usually a beacon of calm calculation, held a tremor of unease. She pointed a slender finger at a cluster of red markers on the map. "These intel drops, the supposed weaknesses in their supply chain… it's all too clean, too convenient. It’s a feint, Jack. A beautifully orchestrated diversion."
