The air in Amy’s room felt thick with a sorrow that had no name, a heavy blanket woven from unspoken goodbyes and the sharp, unexpected edge of loss. The cardboard boxes, stacked like silent sentinels against the walls, were a stark reminder of the future that had blindsided her. Tomorrow. A jolt, like static electricity, passed between them, a familiar sensation that always made her heart flutter. “Hey,” he said, his voice soft. “Don’t beat yourself up. It’s a lot to take in. And… we’ve been having a lot of fun, haven’t we?” A small, wistful smile touched his lips. “Maybe… maybe that’s a good thing, that you could forget for a little while.”
