The closet walls seemed to hum, then sing, a melody weaving itself through the musty air. Tumper, his little dragon heart thrumming in sync, felt a peculiar urge to move. It wasn't just his feet; his tail wagged a frantic rhythm, his wings gave a little flutter, and his snout twitched with an unheard beat. Spilla, ever graceful, tilted her head, her ears perked, as if tuning into a secret frequency only she and Tumper could hear. The hanging clothes, once a silent, looming presence, now swayed like trees in a gentle breeze, each fold and crease a part of the unfolding song.

These had little metal plates on the soles and heels. Tumper, with a surge of excitement, wiggled his toes. “Spilla! Look!” He nudged them with his snout. “These must be the tap shoes! The ones from the song!”
