Lectures, study groups, late-night essays – it was all leading somewhere, to a future I’d only just begun to sketch out in my mind. I was so absorbed in deciphering a particularly dense passage on economic theory that I barely registered the shadow falling over my table.
“Lost in the world of supply and demand?”
Justin’s voice, smooth as polished mahogany, startled me. I looked up, a smile already forming. He was leaning against the bookshelf, that familiar, effortless charm radiating from him. He held a slim volume of poetry, a stark contrast to the textbooks surrounding me.
