Chapter 16
The Spookyween Detective Valentine's Bash
With all the Valentine's cards safely delivered, the pups decide it's time to celebrate their success! They invite all their friends, including a slightly embarrassed Squeaky, to a grand Valentine's Day party. The house is filled with laughter, music, and the sweet scent of cookies. Russo and Baby Bear proudly display their detective badges, while Captain Zoomie entertains everyone with his enthusiastic (and slightly clumsy) zoomies. It’s a joyous occasion, marking the end of their exciting mystery.
The last Valentine’s card had been tucked into Mrs. Higgins’ mailbox, its little heart-shaped flap sealed with a lick of Baby Bear’s tongue. The sun, a shy peek of pink through the thinning clouds, cast long shadows across the snow-dusted lawn. A collective sigh of relief, tinged with the exhilaration of a mission accomplished, rippled through the group. Russo, his tail giving a satisfied thump-thump-thump against the porch steps, adjusted his imaginary detective hat. “Another case closed,” he announced, his voice brimming with pride. “The Spookyween Detective Agency, with the invaluable assistance of Captain Zoomie, has once again triumphed!”
Baby Bear, his fluffy ears perked, nudged Russo playfully. “And Squeaky helped too, remember? She got her nest all decorated, and she even gave us back all the cards.” A faint blush warmed his muzzle as he thought of the little squirrel, still looking a bit sheepish after their gentle scolding.
Captain Zoomie, who had been practicing his “flying” leaps off a snowdrift, landed with a soft *poof* beside them. He shook himself, scattering snowflakes like tiny diamonds. “Zoom! Zoom! Mission accomplished! Time for… treats!” he barked, his tail wagging so furiously it threatened to lift him off the ground.
