The grey fog swirled around Lumina like a damp, suffocating blanket. It had crept in, silent and insidious, leaching the laughter from the air, the warmth from the hearths, and the vibrant hues from the very flowers that once bloomed with such audacious joy. Elara, her small hands clenched tight, felt the chill seep not just into her bones, but into the very core of her being. She, too, saw the desolation, though she couldn’t see the threads themselves.
