The jagged peaks softened, giving way to rolling hills carpeted in a moss so vibrant it seemed to pulse with an inner light. The trees, once a tangled, formidable barrier, now stood like ancient sentinels, their branches reaching towards the sky in silent benediction.

A tremor of anticipation, sharp and sweet, ran through me. The map indicated I was close. I quickened my pace, my boots sinking softly into the yielding earth.
