The air in the enchanted garden was thick with the scent of damp earth and the hushed secrets of ancient trees. Elara, her heart a fluttery bird in her chest, pushed aside a curtain of mossy vines, her eyes wide with a mixture of trepidation and wonder. Elara’s fingers traced the delicate veins of a nearby bloom, a flower unlike any she had ever seen, its petals a swirl of amethyst and sapphire. “The blight… it’s still spreading, Elder Willow. Even the roses in my cottage are wilting faster now. The Shadow Creature… it feels stronger.” A shiver traced its way down her spine. The memory of its chilling presence, a formless dread that sucked the color from her world, was still too vivid.
