Chapter 7
The Heart of Decay
Their adventure leads them to the very heart of Ena's world, where the source of the peril resides. William must confront his deepest fears and vulnerabilities, his courage tested against the encroaching darkness and the true nature of decay.

Ena paused, turning her head to look at him. Her eyes, pools of liquid obsidian, seemed to absorb the meager light, yet held a flicker of something akin to concern. “We are nearing the nexus, William. The heart of this decay. It is where the blight originates, and where our hope must lie.” Her voice, usually a silken caress, now carried a tremor of urgency.
