The sterile scent of the hospital, once a symbol of her recovery, now felt like a cage. Zee’s breath hitched, a ragged sound in the quiet room. The words, raw and guttural, replayed in her mind, a twisted echo of the predator’s declaration. "Be my wife. I love you so bad." Love.
