His fingers tightened in her hair, a brutal anchor as his other hand landed with a sharp slap against her backside. The sting was immediate, a white-hot bloom of pain that stole her breath. Tears welled, blurring the harsh fluorescent lights of the locker room, each one a testament to the violation, the utter loss of control. "You will now be my wife," he growled, his voice a guttural rumble against her ear, a promise of ownership that chilled her to the bone. She squeezed her eyes shut, the sobs wracking her body. "Okay," she choked out, the word ripped from her throat, raw and desperate. "I will. I will be yours. Just... please. Don't kill me. I will love you. Like roses."
