The air crackled with a palpable tension, thick and heavy as the humid jungle canopy that pressed in on all sides. Ragnar, a hulking silhouette against the bruised twilight sky, was cornered. His usual swagger, the predatory grace that usually flowed through his every movement, was replaced by a raw, desperate fury. Emerald, her heart hammering against her ribs, stood her ground, though a tremor ran through her limbs. Beside her, Mackenzie’s hand rested on her arm, a silent, steady anchor. Rousey, ever vigilant, kept a wary eye on Ragnar, her own claws bared, a low growl rumbling in her chest. They had tracked him here, to this forgotten clearing deep within the Whispering Savannah, a place where the very air seemed to hum with ancient, untamed power.
