The water city, Lumina, shimmered beneath the perpetual twilight, a breathtaking testament to a civilization lost to time. Yet, its beauty was hollow, its silence deafening. Automated systems hummed with an eerie, purposeless efficiency, circulating water through crystalline conduits and tending to gardens that bloomed for no one. Elara turned to him, her brow furrowed. "Darkness? What kind of darkness? You’ve spoken in riddles since we met, Kael. The builders, the threat… what truly happened?" Her voice, usually so full of bright curiosity, was now tinged with a growing unease. The pristine beauty of Lumina was beginning to feel less like a discovery and more like a tomb.
