Chapter 16
The Thread Across the Sea
Elias Thorne travels to Tokyo to meet Yuki, a young poet haunted by the Dream Woman and a new manifestation of the Shadow. With Lyra's help, he guides Yuki through a shared dream, weaving her grief into the tapestry and discovering that the Dream Woman's presence is spreading across the globe. The chapter ends with a mysterious message from Ariadne, summoning Elias to a final meeting.
The flight from the city to Tokyo was a blur of clouds and silence. Elias Thorne sat by the window, his fingers tracing the spine of Clara's journal, the weight of the past weeks pressing against his chest like a stone. She had seen the Dream Woman in her mirror. She had been told to find him. And now, as the plane descended through the haze of a gray morning, he felt the familiar pull of the unseen thread.
They landed at Narita Airport, the air thick with humidity and the distant rumble of the city. Lyra stretched, her eyes blinking open. "We're here," she said, a statement more than a question.
