The wind, a restless spirit itself, swirled around them, carrying not just the chill of winter but a symphony of whispers. Corvus tilted his head, his keen eyes scanning the snow-dusted pines, straining to catch the fragmented words carried on the gust. It was like trying to piece together a dream, the meanings shimmering just beyond his grasp. The forest spirits, ancient and wise, were trying to guide them, but their messages were riddles wrapped in the rustle of leaves and the sigh of the breeze.

"They speak of the sun's embrace," Corvus murmured, his voice barely audible above the wind's keen. "And a stone that weeps." He ruffled his feathers, a shiver running down his sleek black body that had nothing to do with the cold. "But what does it mean? A weeping stone? Is it a river? A cave?"

Luna, ever eager, nudged his leg with her wet nose. "Maybe it's a rock with icicles dripping from it, Corvus! Like tears!" Her tail gave a hopeful thump against the snow.
