Luna's Hope
Discouraged by the hardships, Luna’s unwavering optimism reminds the group why they started. Her belief in Corvus and their mission rekindles their determination.
The wind, a biting guest, whipped at Corvus’s feathers, carrying with it the mournful sigh of the starving forest. Snow, relentless and heavy, had buried the once familiar trails under a thick, suffocating blanket. Each gust seemed to whisper tales of dwindling hope, of the raven pack huddled miserably in their roost, their bellies aching with a hunger that gnawed deeper than the winter chill. Corvus, perched on a frost-laden branch, felt the despair settle over him like the snow itself. He could hear the wind’s lament, and it spoke of hardship, of paths that led nowhere, of a future as bleak as the leaden sky.
Beside him, Luna, her fur dusted with snow, nudged his wing with her damp nose. Her usually bright eyes held a flicker of weariness, but her tail gave a tentative wag. “Still no sign, Corvus?” she asked, her voice soft, a stark contrast to the wind’s howl.
Corvus shook his head, his gaze sweeping across the desolate landscape. “The wind… it speaks of struggle, Luna. It tells of the cold’s grip tightening, of the earth holding its breath.” He sighed, a puff of white mist in the frigid air. “Sometimes, I wonder if this valley is just a story, a dream we chase while our families shiver.”
