Grumpy Guardian
The friends encounter a grumpy squirrel guarding his territory. He tries to chase them away! Pip and his companions must use their wits and Pip's new jelly abilities, like squeezing through a fence, to outsmart the squirrel and continue their journey.
The stream was wider than I expected. It gurgled and rushed, a silver ribbon of water that seemed to chuckle at our predicament. Squeaky shivered beside me, her whiskers twitching. "Oh, Pip," she squeaked, her voice barely a whisper above the water's song, "how will we ever get across?" Bumble, ever the calm one, tapped a tiny paw on a smooth, grey stone. "Patience, little ones," he rumbled, his voice like dry leaves skittering. "Nature provides many paths, if we only look."
I looked. All I saw was water. Fast water. And on the other side, the dense tangle of the woods that we needed to pass through. My jelly body felt heavy, a strange sensation for something that was supposed to be light and bouncy. I jiggled nervously. If only I could just… ooze across. But the water looked cold, and the thought of being a soggy jelly hamster sent a shiver through my blue form.
"Maybe," Squeaky began, her voice trembling, "maybe we could build a bridge? With sticks?"
