Giggling Gummy Gears
Scotty adds eggs, but the cauldron churns out chewy, giggling gummy gears. They wiggle and bounce, making funny noises. Scotty wonders what to do.
Scotty peered into the depths of his magic cauldron, his brow furrowed with concentration. He’d added the flour, the sugar, the rainbow sprinkles, and even a dash of sunshine. Now, for the eggs. He carefully cracked two speckled eggs, their yolks a cheerful yellow, and let them plop into the bubbling mixture. "Alright, cauldron," he whispered, giving it a gentle pat. "Let's make some cake batter!"
The cauldron, however, had other plans. Instead of the smooth, creamy batter Scotty envisioned, a peculiar gurgling sound emanated from within. The mixture began to swirl, not in the familiar, buttery way of cake batter, but with a strange, elastic bounce. Scotty watched, his tail giving a tentative wag, as the yellow eggs and white albumen seemed to stretch and twist, like taffy in the sun. Then, with a series of tiny pops and a sound remarkably like a muffled giggle, the contents of the cauldron transformed.
Gone was any semblance of cake batter. In its place, a pile of glistening, brightly colored objects tumbled out, landing with soft thuds on the flagstone floor. They were gears, Scotty realized, but unlike any gears he’d ever seen. They were made of something chewy and translucent, like gummy candies, and they were… giggling.
