Chapter 19
A Paw-sitively Perfect Treat
Scotty realizes his cake is unlike any other, but Sparky loves it! The magical, unpredictable brew was a success in its own special way.
Scotty gazed into the depths of the Magic Cauldron, a warm, fuzzy feeling blooming in his chest. It wasn't a cake, not in the way he’d originally imagined, but it was… something. And Sparky, his little fluffy bundle of joy, was currently attempting to lick a rainbow ribbon that had materialized from the cauldron’s depths, his tail thumping a frantic rhythm against the floor. Scotty giggled. The cauldron hadn't produced a perfect sponge cake, or even a slightly lopsided one. Instead, it had churned out a delightful, chaotic concoction that was a testament to its own wild, untamed magic.
He’d spent ages trying to coax it into making a simple vanilla cake. He’d whispered incantations, sprinkled in sugar and spice, and even added a dash of his own puppy determination. But the cauldron, with its mischievous glint, had other plans. It had started with the bubbly blue surprise, which had made Sparky zoom around the room at warp speed. Then came the flying flour, which had coated everything, including Scotty’s nose, in a fine white powder. Sparky had floated, giggled, and even sported a sparkly snout for a while. There had been rainbow ribbons, gummy gears that spun with a life of their own, and a symphony of sweet musical notes that had made Scotty want to dance.
Scotty had been so frustrated at first. He’d wanted to make Sparky happy, to give him a special treat that was made with love and a little bit of witchy skill. He’d worried he wasn’t a good enough witch, that his magic was too clumsy, too wild, just like his paws. But as he watched Sparky happily batting at a cloud of whipped cream that had puffed out of the cauldron, Scotty realized something. The cauldron wasn't broken. It wasn't trying to mess with him. It was showing him a different kind of magic. A magic that was fun, unexpected, and full of joy.
