Chapter 17
The Enchanted Assembly
Scotty carefully stacks the singing waffles, drizzles them with berry burst juice, and tops them with cloud cream. It looks wonderfully strange.
Scotty surveyed his creation with a proud wag of his tail. The waffles, still humming a faint, cheerful tune, stood stacked precariously high, a wobbly tower of sugary song. He’d managed to get them to sing just the right note this time, a happy little hum that tickled his ears. Carefully, using a delicate drizzle spell, he coaxed the shimmering, jewel-toned Berry Burst Juice from its bottle. It settled on top of the Berry Burst Juice like a freshly fallen snowdrift, a perfect, pillowy peak. It looked, Scotty thought with a happy sigh, wonderfully strange.
Sparky, who had been watching the whole process with wide, adoring eyes, let out a little ‘woof’ of pure delight. He bounced on his hind legs, his tail thumping a frantic rhythm against the floorboards. “Woof! Woof! Scotty! It’s… it’s a tower of… of yum!”
