Nutty Nonsense and Cleverness
With Squeaky's chattering advice and Barnaby's thoughtful pondering, they decipher Flicker's riddle. Barnaby's clever answer impresses Flicker, who happily returns the hat to the relieved gnome.
Barnaby scratched his head, a puff of dust rising from his fur. Flicker the Pixie, perched precariously on a toadstool with Grumble’s sparkly hat bobbing on their head, giggled, a sound like a cascade of miniature bells. “Alright, alright, you fuzzy fellow,” Flicker chimed, their voice tinkling. “The riddle! Answer this, and the hat is yours. Or rather, the gnome’s, which is sort of the same thing, isn’t it?”
Squeaky, who had been doing a frantic little jig of anticipation at Barnaby’s side, squeaked, “Ooh, a riddle! My favorite! What is it, what is it?”
Flicker puffed out their tiny chest. “I have cities, but no houses. I have mountains, but no trees. I have water, but no fish. What am I?”
