Choking on Color
The Crayon Crew rallies. Scarlet, empowered by Mark's bravery, unleashes her true red. She confronts the Monster Sun, forcing it to recoil as her vibrant color overwhelms its destructive heat.
The air crackled, not with the usual playful hum of Vacavile, but with a chilling, oppressive heat. The Monster Sun, that malevolent orb of fiery hate, loomed, its rays, usually a source of warmth, now felt like searing needles. Scarlet, the red crayon, was gone, swallowed by the beast, a grotesque imitation of her vibrant spirit now twisted into a miniature sun-monster, spewing guttural, nonsensical sounds. A cold dread, far more potent than any fear of the dark, began to seep into my bones. This wasn't just a game anymore. This was real.
Denny, usually a beacon of boundless energy, stood frozen, his crayon-blue eyes wide with a terror I’d never seen before. The other Crayon Crew members – Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet, Pink, Brown, Black, White, and Gray – huddled together, their usual cheerful chatter replaced by terrified whispers. Even the sturdy Black seemed to shrink, his usual stoic composure shattered.
“Scarlet!” Denny finally choked out, his voice a thin thread against the roaring inferno of the Monster Sun. He took a hesitant step forward, his waxy hand reaching out as if to pull his friend back from the brink.
