Scarlet's Fiery Fate
The Monster Sun lunges, its fiery gaze fixed on Scarlet, the red crayon. In a terrifying moment, it consumes her, and Scarlet transforms into a terrifying sun-like monster, her color now a source of dread.
The air, once thick with the scent of waxy fun and the hum of boundless energy, suddenly grew heavy, oppressive. A shadow, vast and alien, fell across the vibrant landscape of Vacavile. It wasn't the gentle shade of a passing cloud, but something sharp, something that *hated* light. My eyes, still wide with wonder from the introduction to Denny and his Crayon Crew, snapped upwards. There, blotting out the cheerful sky, was a monstrous orb, not of golden warmth, but of malevolent, pulsing heat. Its surface writhed with an unnatural, sickly yellow, and its edges flickered with a dangerous, hungry flame.
"Ohhh, I hate crayons!" the voice boomed, a grating rasp that scraped against the very soul. It wasn't a voice that belonged in this world of brilliant hues. It was a voice that belonged to scorched earth and barren plains. "I love to melt!"
A chill, colder than any winter wind, slithered down my spine. This was no playful monster. This was something ancient and cruel. The Crayon Crew, moments before a riot of joyful movement, froze. Their bright bodies, usually so full of life, seemed to shrink, their vibrant colors dimming under the oppressive gaze of the sun-monster. Even Denny, usually so brimming with unshakeable cheer, looked pale, his usually sparkling eyes wide with a dawning, terrible understanding.
