The morning light, a gentle caress on my eyelids, pulled me from the depths of sleep. It wasn’t the usual pale yellow of my bedroom window, but something brighter, more alive. A faint hum, like the distant echo of laughter, vibrated in the air. I blinked, the sleep still clinging to my lashes, and pushed myself up. The room looked… different. The walls seemed to shimmer with an inner light, and the familiar posters on my wall pulsed with a subtle, almost imperceptible glow. But it was the view from my window that truly stole my breath.

My heart hammered against my ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the sudden silence. Vacaville. My Vacaville. It was transformed. A strange sensation, a mixture of wonder and a prickle of unease, washed over me. This was impossible. This was… beautiful. But how? Had I dreamt it all? The portal, Denny, Scarlet’s fiery fate, the monstrous sun, the battle? It felt so real, so vivid, yet the world outside my window was a stark, unbelievable contrast to the mundane reality I’d known before.
