Denny's Rainbow Farewell

The portal shimmered behind me, a swirling vortex of amethyst and gold, beckoning me back to the familiar comfort of my bedroom. Denny, his crayon-bright eyes reflecting the wonder of the moment, stood beside me, a silent sentinel.
