The soft, pearly luminescence of the Cloud Village receded, the majestic spires and floating gardens dimming like embers as she descended. It was a bittersweet departure, a gentle ache in her chest for the magic she was leaving behind, but a profound sense of fulfillment warmed her from the inside out. Her wish, a gift that would ripple through her home and beyond, was real.
Beside her, a soft, ethereal glow pulsed, and Elara turned to see the Cloud Cats gathered on the edge of the cloud where she had first landed. Their forms, usually so solid yet impossibly light, shimmered with an even greater intensity now, as if their very essence was woven from the departing sunlight. Their eyes, pools of liquid moonlight, regarded her with an affection that needed no words.
A particularly fluffy, grey Cloud Cat, the one who had guided her through the shifting maze, nudged her hand with its head. Its fur felt like spun starlight, cool and impossibly soft. "You have done well, little one," a voice, like the chime of tiny bells, echoed not in her ears, but directly in her mind.
