The air thickened, not with the stench of sulfur and decay, but with a cloying, sweet perfume that promised oblivion. It was a scent I’d never encountered, yet it clawed at a memory I desperately tried to suppress, a phantom ache behind my eyes. The stone beneath my boots, once rough and unforgiving, had smoothed into something disturbingly soft, like flesh. I took a cautious step, my sword, ‘Oathkeeper,’ humming faintly in my grip, a low thrumming that vibrated through my bones. This was no mere physical prison; this was something far more insidious.

A whisper slithered into my ear, so faint I almost dismissed it as the wind. But there was no wind here. “Lycar,” it breathed, the sound like silk torn on rusted metal. “You fight so hard. Such a strong warrior. But what do you fight for?”

My hand tightened on Oathkeeper. The Weaver. I knew it. This was its voice, the malevolent consciousness of this infernal machine. It wasn't just about the physical torment, the sharp edges and burning fires of the previous circles. This was about the mind, the spirit.
