Chapter 6
Grak's Savage Domain
The third circle is ruled by Grak, a brute consumed by rage. Lycar faces a brutal combat challenge, a test of his warrior skills against pure, unbridled fury.
The air in the third circle was thick, not with the usual miasma of despair, but with a raw, animalistic stench that clawed at my nostrils. It was the smell of unadulterated rage, of blood spilled and fury unleashed. This was Grak’s domain, a place where primal violence reigned supreme, and the very ground seemed to pulse with the echoes of a thousand shattered bones. The landscape was a jagged wasteland of obsidian shards and a blood-red soil that stained my boots with every step. Jagged peaks, like broken teeth, clawed at a sky the color of a festering bruise.
I’d seen enough of the Wheel’s twisted artistry to know that each circle was a reflection, a warped mirror held up to the sins it housed. The first had been a desolate plain of my own making, filled with the ghosts of my cowardice. The second, a suffocating labyrinth of whispers, echoing my guilt. Now, this. This was a testament to uncontrolled violence, a testament I knew, with a chilling certainty, was designed to draw out the beast within me.
A guttural roar ripped through the oppressive silence, a sound that vibrated in my very marrow. It was Grak. He emerged from a chasm that split the earth before me, a titan of muscle and scarred flesh. His skin was the color of dried blood, stretched taut over a frame that dwarfed even my own considerable build. Muscles coiled like enraged serpents beneath the surface, each one a testament to a lifetime of brutal exertion. His eyes, two burning embers set deep within a scarred visage, fixed on me with an intensity that promised annihilation. He wielded a crude, massive club, its head a spiked monstrosity that looked like it had been forged from the very bones of fallen warriors.
