The air thrummed with an infernal energy, a vibration that burrowed deep into my bones, rattling my very soul. Before me, the Wheel of Torment pulsed, its segments a swirling vortex of agony, each a testament to a different shade of damnation. The Weaver of Torment, a shifting, amorphous entity of shadow and despair, coalesced from the very essence of this accursed place. Its form rippled, a thousand screaming faces momentarily flickering within its nebulous mass before dissolving back into the swirling darkness. This was it. The final confrontation. The culmination of every agonizing step, every brutal fight, every whispered doubt that had clawed at my mind since I first laid eyes on this abomination.
"You have come far, warrior," a voice slithered, not from a single point, but from everywhere at once, a chilling symphony of despair. "Farther than any before you. But all journeys end. And yours ends here, within my embrace."
My sword, Dawnbreaker, felt heavy in my grip, its familiar weight a small comfort against the overwhelming dread. The prophecy, Elara’s fragmented whispers, the sheer burning hatred I felt for this thing – it all coalesced into a single, unwavering purpose. I would not become another echo in this infernal machine. I would shatter it.
