The air thinned, growing heavy with a pressure that wasn't just physical, but psychological. It pressed in, a tangible weight of despair, of a million lifetimes of agony compressed into this single, suffocating space. This was it. The seventh circle. The heart of the Wheel. The maddening symphony of the damned, which had been a distant cacophony, now swelled into a deafening roar, each wail, each scream, each choked sob a distinct note in a symphony composed of pure anguish. I stumbled forward, my boots crunching on a ground that felt less like earth and more like shattered remnants of broken hopes. The light here was a sickly, pulsing crimson, like the dying embers of a world that had long since given up. Twisted, skeletal trees clawed at the bruised sky, their branches weeping a viscous, black ichor that pooled and shimmered with an unholy luminescence. And the stench… gods, the stench. It was a cocktail of decay, of burning flesh, of stagnant despair, so potent it made my eyes water and my gorge rise.

I could feel it, a colossal, pulsating entity all around me, its tendrils of misery reaching out, seeking to ensnare me, to drown me in its unending tide of pain. The illusions of the previous circles, the whispers of guilt, the phantoms of my past – they were nothing compared to the raw, unadulterated essence of suffering that permeated this place.
