A Pattern of Courage

Elara’s fingers traced the cool, smooth threads of the tapestry. Days had melted into weeks since she’d first found it tucked away in the attic, a forgotten world waiting to be reawakened. Each morning, she’d climb the creaky stairs, drawn by an invisible thread, an insistent whisper that only she could hear. The attic, once a place of dusty memories and forgotten trinkets, had transformed into her sanctuary, bathed in the soft, dappled light that filtered through the grimy window.

Before her eyes, the threads of the tapestry twisted and swirled, coalescing into an image. It was fleeting, like a dream just out of reach, but she saw a woman, her face obscured by shadow, tending a garden bursting with luminous flowers. A sense of profound peace washed over Elara, a feeling of belonging so strong it made her ache. Then, just as quickly, the vision dissolved, leaving only the familiar pattern of the weaving.
