Before them, seated on a throne carved from a single, impossibly smooth obsidian, was a figure unlike any they had ever encountered.

It was, for lack of a better word, a being. Its form shifted subtly, like heat haze rising from a summer road, yet it possessed an undeniable presence. There were no discernible features of gender, no clear age, only an aura of immense, quiet knowledge. The being’s eyes, when they finally met Aurora’s, were like twin pools of liquid moonlight, reflecting a depth that made her feel both insignificant and profoundly seen.

“Welcome, wanderers from the echoed worlds,” a voice resonated, not from the being’s lips, but from the very air around them, a chorus of whispers that coalesced into a single, melodious tone. “You have stepped beyond the veil, into the realm where ink bleeds into reality, and dreams take root.”
