The crimson tapestries of the Queen’s private chambers seemed to bleed the last vestiges of daylight, casting long, distorted shadows that danced with the flickering candlelight. Queen Isolde, her regal posture betraying a weariness that no amount of silks and jewels could mask, traced the intricate embroidery on her gown. Her brow was furrowed, a testament to the gnawing anxieties that had taken root in her heart. Across from her, Lord Valerius, the Royal Advisor, sat with a practiced air of serene concern, his eyes, sharp and assessing, never quite meeting hers directly.

"My Queen," he began, his voice a low, silken murmur that seemed to weave itself into the very fabric of the room, "the whispers grow louder. The kingdom grows restless."

Isolde sighed, the sound barely audible. "I am aware, Valerius. The people speak of uncertainty, of a future yet unwritten."
