The air in the market buzzed, a symphony of bartering voices, the rhythmic thud of mortar and pestle, and the distant laughter of children. It was a familiar soundscape, one that had cradled my life since birth. Yet, today, it felt different. A hum beneath the surface, a current of anticipation, as if the very earth beneath our feet was holding its breath. The usual vibrant chaos was tinged with a new resolve, a quiet strength that had bloomed in the aftermath of the storm.

His nets, designed to catch everything, had decimated the fish population, leaving many families, including ours, facing empty baskets and hollow bellies. But the crisis, as devastating as it was, had also been a crucible. It had forged something new in us, a collective will that had been dormant for too long.
