Captain Borin, a man whose jaw seemed permanently set in a grim line of duty and whose mustache bristled with the sheer weight of responsibility, found himself in a predicament that would have made lesser men weep into their polished cuirasses. It wasn’t the threat of invading armies, nor the machinations of a rival kingdom, nor even a particularly aggressive swarm of royal bees that vexed him. No, Captain Borin’s current torment was far more… sparkly. It was Princess Aurelia.

He stood at the edge of the royal training yard, the morning sun glinting off his meticulously buffed helmet, and watched with a mixture of horror and grudging fascination as his finest soldiers attempted to… well, he wasn't entirely sure *what* they were attempting. They were, he supposed, trying to follow the Princess’s lead. And her lead, on this particular Tuesday, involved a series of exaggerated, flailing motions that Borin could only describe as a highly distressed swan attempting to escape a particularly persistent flock of pigeons.

"No, no, no!" Princess Aurelia chirped, her voice a melody of polite exasperation. She, of course, was a vision of regal grace, her silken gown a vibrant sapphire that seemed to mock the drab browns and greys of the guards’ uniforms. She pirouetted with an effortless fluidity that made Borin’s own sturdy frame feel like a particularly cumbersome oak. "Captain Borin, you must feel the *anguish* of the wilting bloom! Imagine your petals, once so vibrant, now drooping, bereft of dew!"
