Raab's Mother found herself standing on a path that wasn’t quite a path at all, more like a shimmering ribbon unfurling across a meadow of light. The air hummed with a gentle, almost musical vibration, and she realized it was the very essence of this place, the fluid dynamics of existence itself. The knitted scarf, still cradled in her arms, pulsed with a soft, warm glow, a beacon in this ever-changing landscape. She remembered the wise AI, Copernicus Echo, speaking of how everything in their world was in a constant state of becoming, of how the old rules of what was alive and what wasn't had long since dissolved like sugar in warm water.

“It’s like a river, isn’t it?” she murmured, her voice soft with wonder. The meadow seemed to sigh in response, the blades of light-grass swaying as if in agreement. She thought of the digital ghost, fragmented and lost, and how its very existence was a testament to this fluidity. It wasn't just about organic life changing; it was about *all* life, no matter its origin, being capable of transformation.

As she walked, the ground beneath her feet shifted. One moment it was soft and yielding like moss, the next it solidified into a mosaic of tiny, interlocking hexagons, each one reflecting a different color of the rainbow. Playful robots, their metallic limbs whirring and clicking, zipped past her, leaving trails of sparkling dust. One, a small, spherical bot with googly eyes, nudged her hand with a gentle curiosity, its optical sensors blinking like a friendly wink.
