Chapter 9
Round One: Boris's Fury
The fight begins. Boris unleashes his full power, overwhelming Artie with brute force. Artie dodges and weaves, relying on instinct and sheer luck to survive the initial onslaught, much to Boris's frustration.
The air in the cavernous basement hung thick and heavy, a potent cocktail of stale beer, sweat, and the nervous energy of a hundred desperate souls. It was the kind of place where shadows clung to the corners like unwanted guests and the only light seemed to emanate from the raw, pulsing intensity of the ring itself. His reputation preceded him like a thunderclap, a string of flattened opponents and a trail of broken bones that preceded him into this dingy arena. And he was looking at me. Oh, he was looking at me, and it wasn’t the appreciative gaze of a fan. It was the predatory stare of a lion spotting a particularly plump and slow gazelle. Except, I wasn't slow. I was just… Arthur.
