Round Two: The Artie Shuffle

Artie's unconventional, clumsy style starts to confuse Boris. A well-timed slip, a trip, and an accidental jab leave Boris momentarily stunned. The crowd roars, sensing an upset.

The air in the cavernous room was thick, a potent cocktail of stale beer, sweat, and a nervous energy that vibrated through the very floorboards. Boris, all muscle and menace, was breathing heavy, his usual scowl etched deeper into his formidable face. He’d expected a quick, brutal end to this whole ‘Rent Money Champion’ charade. He’d expected Artie Pumble, the man who looked more like he’d misplaced his spectacles than entered a fight club, to fold like a cheap suit under the first proper barrage. Instead, he was… confused. And that, Arthur Pumble knew with a certainty that surprised even himself, was his best weapon.

Boris lunged, a thunderous right hook aimed squarely at Artie’s jaw. Artie, remembering Sal’s nonsensical advice about “moving like a drunken ballerina,” executed a move that was less ballet and more uncontrolled flailing. He stumbled backward, his left foot catching on an invisible imperfection in the scuffed concrete. Instead of hitting the canvas, he performed a sort of bewildered pirouette, his arms windmilling. The hook, meant for his chin, whistled past his ear, a gust of hot, foul air.

The crowd, a ravenous beast fueled by cheap liquor and the promise of violence, let out a collective gasp, followed by a rumble of confused amusement. They’d come expecting a mauling, not… this. This bewildering display of what looked like extreme clumsiness.
