Chapter 5
The Unraveling Path
Mystic makes a decisive move, stepping towards the unknown. The choice propels her deeper into the heart of the dark place, the lantern and shadow her only companions. The world around her begins to shift and change.

Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the oppressive silence. Every instinct screamed at her to flee, to turn and scramble back the way she came, though the ‘way she came’ was as indistinct and formless as the shadow itself. But a strange, insistent pull held her captive. A morbid curiosity, perhaps, or a desperate hope that this inexplicable phenomenon held the key to her escape. The lantern beckoned, a silent invitation, while the shadow loomed, a silent warning.
