Chapter 8
A Viral Whisper
Sarah tentatively shares her gravy-boat poem online. To her astonishment, it strikes a chord, resonating with countless others. The poem goes viral, marking the birth of her poetic alter ego.
The glow of the laptop screen was Sarah’s only companion in the hushed aftermath of the gravy boat incident. The remnants of the dinner party, a battlefield of crumpled napkins and bewildered guests, had finally been cleared, leaving behind a silence that felt both earned and slightly unnerving. She’d retreated to her study, the scent of lemon polish and lingering roast beef clinging to the air, a stark contrast to the whirlwind that had just departed. Her fingers hovered over the keyboard, a phantom echo of the frantic scribbling that had birthed the poem.

She, Sarah, the woman who commanded boardrooms with sharp intellect and even sharper heels, had just composed verse about a culinary disaster. And not just any verse, but a surprisingly coherent, albeit slightly frantic, sonnet.
A sigh escaped her. What was she even doing? This was hardly the stuff of strategic planning or market analysis. It was… domestic chaos, rendered in iambic pentameter. She pictured Mr. Abernathy’s pursed lips if he ever caught wind of this. He’d probably relegate her to expense report auditing for the rest of her career.
