Chapter 8
Allies in the Light
Rose finds unexpected allies among the oppressed citizens and a few remaining loyalists to her mother's cause. Among them are Daisy and Peach, who hold vital secrets about Eleanor's fate and Lilly's rise to power.
The air in the hidden glen crackled with a new sort of energy, a vibrant hum that seemed to emanate from Rose herself. The whispers of the enchanted woods, once a soothing lullaby, now felt like urgent messages, urging her towards a path she was only beginning to comprehend. Her dreams, a swirling tapestry of a sun-drenched castle and a woman with eyes like hers, had grown more vivid, more insistent. A disquiet settled in her heart, a yearning for a place she’d never known, a life she couldn’t quite recall.

Rose fingered the cool metal of the locket, the crest of a soaring falcon etched into its surface. Her mother’s crest. The artifact had appeared as if conjured from the very air, a tangible link to a past shrouded in mystery. Each touch sent a tremor through her, a sense of belonging that warred with the comfortable familiarity of her fairy life. “But why?” she asked, her voice barely a whisper. “Why was I brought here? Why did my mother hide me?”
