The air in the hidden chamber hummed with a forgotten energy, a stark contrast to the usual gentle rustle of leaves and the tinkling laughter of the sprites. Rose traced the worn symbols etched into the stone walls, her fingers brushing against carvings that felt both alien and strangely familiar. She had stumbled upon this place by accident, a forgotten alcove behind a waterfall she’d often visited in her childhood, a place Magnolia had always subtly steered her away from. Today, however, a restless curiosity, a persistent echo of her dreams, had pulled her deeper, past the shimmering curtain of water and into the cool, damp embrace of the earth.

The human world is fraught with shadows you cannot yet comprehend.”* But the shadows within Rose herself had grown too vast, too demanding to ignore. The locket, warm against her skin, was a constant reminder of the mother she’d never known, a mother whose face she saw in fleeting glimpses during her restless nights.

The chamber was small, circular, and dominated by a central pedestal. Upon it rested not a jewel, nor a weapon, but a book. Its cover was bound in a material that felt like aged leather, yet shimmered with an iridescence that spoke of moonlight and dew. The title, if it had one, was lost to time, the script indecipherable. Yet, as Rose’s gaze fell upon it, a single word, a whisper from the depths of her being, formed in her mind: *“Prophecy.”*
