The air crackled with a nervous energy, a symphony of hushed whispers and the rhythmic clinking of armor. Beneath the sprawling branches of the ancient Whispering Willow, a gathering of unlikely allies had convened. Rose, clad in practical leather armor that felt both foreign and strangely right, stood at the forefront, her gaze sweeping over the determined faces arrayed before her. Beside her, Magnolia, her silver hair braided with moon-kissed wildflowers, radiated an aura of quiet strength. The diminutive sprites, their wings a blur of iridescent color, flitted about like anxious fireflies, their tiny voices a chorus of encouragement.
“Are they all here, Magnolia?” Rose’s voice, though steady, held a tremor of anticipation.
Magnolia nodded, her ancient eyes reflecting the dappled moonlight. “Every loyal heart that beats for the rightful heir. The wood elves, the river sprites, the farmers who still remember the kindness of your mother’s reign. And our own kin, though their numbers are fewer than we’d hoped.”
