I didn't know if I'd made the team. The judges, a panel of stern faces with impassive eyes, had offered no clues. They’d simply nodded, scribbled on their clipboards, and then dismissed us with a curt wave. But as I stood there, the phantom sensation of the music still vibrating through my limbs, a profound sense of accomplishment washed over me.
